The Dream
As I lay there last night
I held you in my dreams
You were right there besides me
Or so it seems
I heard you, I held you
But you weren’t really there
Just part of a dream
It doesn’t seem fair
As I lay there I thought
I must be dreaming
That’s what my mind thought
But my heart, it was singing
And then I awoke
Awoke from that dream
I felt like I’d lost you
I’d lost you it seems
That dream was special
Special to me
More special than anything
You’ll ever see
