Memories Won't Fade
On a summer night
Someplace hidden and cold
Shivering with fright
For nobody’s here to hold
Within my heart
There is little heat
Left over from the start
And how little it beats
Something inside
Grows and grows
Something I hide
Something that glows
My love for you won’t fade
My heart still thrives for you
It begs and pleads not to hate
There is nothing more I can do
I would give anything
To look into your eyes once more
To hear your whispers sing
To be with you forever more
I love you
And this is not a lie
Unlike what you use to do
This I would never hide

You say you don't remember,
But I will never forget
This is so sad. I love it because I can feel the emotion coming through it, and I think that's how you can grasp your readers. Keep writing!
