"He who chooses me must hazard all he hath"-William Shakespeare, Merchant of Venice

I am a tightrope walker.
I only see reality if I look down.
But I don't.
I can't.
If I do, I am ruined.
I will stumble,
Tumble,
I will fall.
The fall is long and the landing,
Uncomfortable.
I will collide with pointed steeples of reality
And stare gargoyles of misstrust in the eye.
My footprints will show forever
On the sooty roads,
Greasy rooftops,
I will leave holes in the Mist,
And light will shine on me,
Exposing me,
Showing the world that I fell.
So I am a tightrope walker.
I only see reality if
I
Look
Down.

This piece is about falling from my personal garden of Eden, and feeling the burden of waking up after a dream and realizing it was a nightmare.
