The first time he hit me,
We had had our first
Real fight.
It wasn’t supposed to
Go like that.
It did anyways.
His hand came down on
My jaw line, his ring scraped
Against my skin, making
My cheek leak red.
Then my eyes leaked clear.
He just stood there,
Telling me it was my fault.
