I want to learn to drive a stick shift, and go so far away that I stop being afraid of not wanting to come back or not being able to find my way back.

She balances diamonds
the size of marbles on
her spider-thin fingers,
rents her neck out to
strings of pearls and
chains of dull gold
and silver, pushing
loose strands back into
her hair which brushes
the tops of the door
frame when she walks,
lifting her skirts to
reveal silken shoes
decorated with rubies,
with a crown dressed
in sapphires upon
her head, all while
her country starves.

I honestly wrote this in about 5-10 minutes in my world history class when we were learning about Marie Antoinette.

This was absolutely briliant. It has such vivid imagery. I love it. Please check out some of my work if you ever have a chance.

"Only dead fish swim with the stream"

oh don't be modest (or a show-off! can't tell!) you did not write this in 5-10 minutes...it's too good to be some scribbled down classroom poem! if it is...wow.
