Our hearts beating
but not at the same tempo,
as we march together
All as one.
Feet crunching on leaves
and gravel.
A chilly feel to the plastic and metal we hold.
Emotions that differ,
Our parts blasting out differently,
but melding wonderfully.
As we march on as one.

It was about my first parade that I marched in with the marching band. I had played through the music so much I knew it by heart. & I remember forming this poem inside my head...
