Young Writers
I remember the enthusiasm
Remember how I was enthralled
That my mind could spin fast, fast, and faster
Than my pen could scrawl
The feeling that I had something important to share
Even when there was no one, anywhere near
The daydream that maybe my future was
right here
That I needed nothing more than to write
To disappear
Into a world of paper and pen
Where I could stay
And never return again
