The Darker Night

By the darker night, they strode out of the hovering veil and through the gate.
Swaying ever so slightly,just a drift,not quite.
Gliding carelessly,shadows swallowing and releasing. As though they were much too distasteful for his liking.
And the cold they brought with them, the chill could make a whole village numb.
As if death had finally arrived.
