We sit here
Pretending
That it’s all okay
You sit there
Knowing
That you'll leave me today
I sit here
Trembling
With every second
Fearing
For what’s to come
I look into your eyes
Seeing
Darkness, bleak and cold
You look back at me
Letting
Me fall out of your hold
We stand here
Grasping
For some kind of token
You stand there
Struggling
To find the words that need to be spoken
I stand here
Searching
For some way out of this mess
Fighting
To save myself
