Friendship
Tick, Tock
The clock will sing
Drip, Drop
The rain will fall
Flip, Flop
Walk out with me
Splash, Splash
Let’s play today.
The mud invites,
And ours years rewind
Let’s be kids and jump in puddles.
Hold my hands
Tug on my pants
Pull me along
Glue me to you.
Hurry, Hurry
The end is near.
The light will come,
And return our years
The mud will dry
And our smiles will fade
But keep holding on
Keep my hands in yours
Tug on my pants and I’ll do the same.
Flip, Flop
Walk in with me
Tick, Tock
The clock will still sing
When the sun later shines
Just hold my hands and stay with me.
Nothing will be lost
Nothing will be gone
The clock will just sing
Our years will return
The past will forever remain
For friendship will tick and tock
Until the fade of its song.
