The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere
This is the story about Paul Revere
A man who fought through his fear
The night he had his midnight ride
When hours later so many men died.
On April 18, 1775
A flame in the North Church Tower was lit alive
Revere looked across the bay
Saw the light and galloped away
With a final glance before he turned
A second light slowly burned.
He rode in the night and did not slow
The midnight light lit up the road
The wind whistled past his face
He could hear it whisper, “Keep up the pace.”
His horse galloped as fast as a train
It kept on going even through the rain.
As he rode into Lexington
His only feeling -- adrenaline!
When he arrived it was one ‘o’clock
He yelled and screamed, “People! Grab your gun’s stock!”
As he set his sights on Concord
Lexington prepared to draw their sword
Paul Revere quickly arrived
Hoping his news would help them thrive.
With the farmers ready
They held their guns steady
Thanks to Paul
We saw the British fall!
