Thick heavy drops
They fall one by one
Each bringing
The sound of a slap
To my window pane

Can I just sit here forever?
Can I take it all in
Never to leave
This amazing spot
In my rocking chair

I wish it rained more
Then I could sit here
Everyday
To sit and just watch
As the rain washes the street

But then I know
That if it were to rain everyday
The time in my rocking chair
Would never be as special
As it is right now

The author's comments:
I have a rocking chair in my room next to my window that looks over the street and I promised myself that I would only sit in it when it rains. I haven't sat in my rocking chair for over a month, but today I finally got to. :)

That's so awesome! I know how you feel; whenever you have a special occasion it feels great, but repeat that every day for a week, then it doesn't seem so special anymore.
