When you're a Great Pretender
it's like a mastered art
You hide while never running
You run, but never dart

You have the chance to smile
No one stops you when you laugh
You can live a lie, but never fib
You are lost, but hold the staff

And when you're a Great Pretender
no one will ever know.
It's all appreciated
You're the favorite show

You can be alone while you're surrounded
You can talk while saying nothing at all
It's a wonderful trick, to be honest
To be perfect, but with flaw

But there comes a time for Great Pretenders
When the act becomes your past
When reality is better than pretend
and you want right now to last
