sweet magnolia
do you know your worth?
delicate yet strong
gently you touch our lives
embracing us in pure love
devoid of hatred

jealousy

resentment

you may think you fall
or falter now and again
but you do so with grace

twirling

flowing with nature

your aura
so radiant
kind enough to charm ours
with its affection

reserved
you think
quietly
you observe

hiding your nobility
you watch the others dance
while you glow in silence

This poem goes with a set of two, written as an assignment for AP english. The objectives set by myself and my classmates was to write two poems, using the same metaphor- one revering someone, and another admiring- at least one had to be about someone in the class. This one is about a dear friend of mine and is meant to be the one in reverence.
