A heart's desires
Love is a feeling that’s hard to describe.
Whenever I try to think of it, it fades away
Leaving only a distant memory of its presence.
A faint glimmer of light in this dark world
On the brink of being extinguished.
Sing and all your troubles will melt away
Or so the members of the chorus say
I haven’t tried it before, maybe it works
A remedy that I haven’t known, in my mind it lurks
The word Blood brings to mind
Violence, conflict, danger
All the negative connotations demean its
Importance
It is the base of our life, running through
Our veins and keeping us alive
Voyages over sea, air, and land
The sights meander by until you lose focus
And the surrounding land only becomes a blur
Fall asleep and wake to the soothing hum of the engine
Stare out the window again
