Hush, Don't Believe A Word
So many times have I believed,
that you had finally changed
I gave up, gave in, let you win,
sighed and looked the other way
But now I know that letting go,
and pretending this isn't pain
Isn't right, I'd rather fight,
than pretend it could ever be the same
I've been so numb for so long,
trying not to let you in
You gain my trust, then break it down,
tell me, Dad, when will it end?
I don't know why I still care,
after all that you've done to us
After all that we had, the family you left,
broken apart by lust
I hope you know I don't resent you,
I'm just hoping, praying for the best
I just want you to know that you've lost my trust,
I'm putting this pain to rest.
