Only Five
"Look at me!
I did it!
I'm done!"
The puzzle was laid out on the floor
Some pieces forced together.
I jump up and down
I'm only five years old,
So no one thinks I'm weird, yet.
Along came the cat,
Looking all high and mighty,
Like she owned the place,
She sat on top of my puzzle.
Soon she realized
That I wasn't paying attention to her.
She stood and stretched
before strutting away
I look down at my puzzle
I see that
When the cat stretched
she had displaced some pieces
I sat down and began to wail
And no one thought I was weird
because, as I said,
I'm only five.
