Two Peas In A Pod
Sunrise in the morning
Sunset as dusk
I never knew how one place could be so beautiful
I like to watch the golfers
Take their first swing
And watch as their expressions sink
Sometimes I sit on the deck
And listen to old memories and secrets kept inside
I think he feels good to let them out
As he lets the days pass by
He’s proud of his family
He’s proud of himself
All the accomplishments that took him to where he is
He cannot forget the days
Those linger inside
The ones where the sky
Was not on his side
Babe Ruth’s ghost looms in the backyard.
The wooden statue speaks to him.
He loves having his hero with him always.
The water glistens and so do his eyes.
He says just one thing
“I love having you by my side”
