Clear, Blue Sky
Dusty streets; streaked
With tears
Love
Wrapped up in steel.
And debris,covered
Hatred…
Steals lives and
Steel…
Heat evolved
From red
Hot
Flames and faces,
“Who?”
Dust clears,
Haze lifts;
The atmosphere is uns et t led,
Along
With souls….lives
Stole.
Loneliness
Surrounds the empty,
Filled
Streets.
Red…tear soaked
Eyes of hate
Plead
With God,
“Why?”
Yet…
Mocking eyes
Quietly
Watch from the other side
Of the sea…
The invisible city across
The sea.
And they knew
That we couldn’t…see
Through the ocean
To see
Across the sea.
Hate
Was theirs.
Vengeance
Would soon be ours
(we prayed).
“Revenge…ours,
Mistake… theirs.”
Trodden, American hearts
Silently,
Shouted,
Into the
Clear,
Blue
Sky.
