The Cold
As the night turns to day all turns warm
I stay a cold state of emptiness
The cold grasping and holding me for itself
Keeping me from the warmth of everything else
When she died, she took the warmth of my childhood
The memories of which she was always there to care for me
The memories of her smiling face to cheer me up when I was down
Everything gone, not a trace remains
As I lay in a cold slumber
Pondering on the last memories of my aunt
The memories of her caring nature
No more smiles, no more warmth from her
I can turn to her no more
To know she is no more
Makes the nights even colder
