You Took Your Love From Me And I in Acceptance of Death
Sometimes I feel as if you’ve abandoned me
Left me to float on a dry sea
O’ come now when I need a rescue
O’ come now if you really love me
And answer my call for help
You left me so weak
I can do little more than yelp
How did we come to this
Everything was a bliss
But now so much is amiss
I can’t go on without you here
O’ come and save me dear
O’ come to my aid I beg
Do not leave me here
Do not leave me alone
Do not steal back your warmth
Lest I be chilled to the bone
This I fear you will do
Not on purpose I do not think
But when you do
I will sink
O’ do not let this come to be
O’ do not let this come to pass
I will beg I will plead
Do not do this to me
Do not fail me now
As I am about to go down
I need you now as much as ever
It is for this I do endeavor
To let you see
You will be the death of me
O’ do not let my death burden you
O’ do not let it hurt
I do not wish to be remembered
I wish to be left alone
I want my death to be said
Was an omen of the dead
Those who wish to be free
And those who do not let them be
O’ do not miss me when I have gone
O’ do not cry for me
I wish for no fancy headstone
I wish for a plain rock
Merely the dates inscribed
But my names not
I do not wish to be outlived
By a name nor legacy
I wish to be left
To rest in peace
I am just a humble man
I have not great skill
With a tongue or pen
Nor sword or lance
My death has started
Let it advance
O’ do not try to stop me
O’ do not interfere
Leave me in my own solitude
Leave me by myself
I do not care nor wish for wealth
Do not toast to my soul
Do not toast to my health
Do not I beg
Make me a spectacle
Never show my face
I wish to be left to die in this place
O’ come and save me dear
O’ come now when I need a rescue
O’ come now if you love me
O’ come and save me dear
I can’t go on
Without you here
