the burn behind my stubbornly opened eyes/ the aching of my temples/ the strangled sob/ the sharp flash of pain/ that darts through my heart/ as saltwater held back for so long/ is let go of/ let free/ freely flowing down my cheeks/ sitting in the corners of my mouth/ the corners you used to touch/ seeping into my pores/ staying/ sticking to me like i stuck to you/ i rub them away/ and leave
