My Heart

November 15, 2009

In my heart there is the world.
Pushing down on my shoulders.
As heavy as can be.
Oh how I wish it wasn’t there.
In my heart there is the world.
It’s Time Square in New York on New Years Eve.
Everyone pushing and shoving,
To get as close as they can to see the ball drop.
“Three, two, one, Happy New Year!”
All of the stress is finally relieved.
In my heart there is the world.
The clouds in Seattle about to pour,

The constant darkness of Alaska,
And the dry desert of the Sahara.
In my heart there is the world,
Pushing down on my shoulders.
