Salubris
falling
like lead dropped from a skyscraper
i never knew i could feel this way
flipping
head over heels, sailing through the air,
defying nature’s strongest force
sprinting
emotions running wild
like stallions on the prairie
doubting
what i once was so sure of
can this be real?
breaking
heart emulsified
as a city wrecked by a tornado
fibrillating
barely alive,
but still hanging on
shocking
pain as i awaken
from the blackest slumber of heartache
blinding
light pierces my pupils
as i begin to see clearly for the first time
frightening
the prospect of trusting
what if i get hurt?
comtemplating
a new life, another chance awaits
what will i decide?
choosing
a different path this time
no turning back
learning
from my mistakes,
to love again
following
my heart
forevermore
surrendering
completely
to the greatest force ever known
embracing
the future
my destiny awaits
falling
again, because
i choose to
