umbrella

The skies weeped
big heavy tears.
The man had an umbrella in one hand
and his heart in the other.
He stood outside the building.
The building of sorrow
of hope, and love, and pain
He looks in, and in and stares.
He stands in the rain
his heart and his umbrella,
and stares.
His head falls to the tears
and they stream down his cheeks.
The man slowly walks home,
empty handed,
leaving the umbrella
an offering.
