The autumn wind blowing through my hair
Making beautiful reds, oranges, yellows, and browns
Float off the ground in its wake
Evenly dispursing them across the yard

It was the third time
Dragging the rake over that same area
Why won't the wind stop?
When will the leaves cease their steady flow?
I hear the familiar sound of the brustling of leaves
And wait patiently for the soft brush
Of falling leaves on my shoulder
I watch
Frustrated
As the green of the grass
Is once again hidden
By the beautiful reds, oranges, yellows, and browns
Of the constantly falling leaves

Breathing in the crisp November air
Finally surrendering to the battling forces of the wind
I lay on the ground
Feeling the wind on my face
It truly was a beautiful day
It was time to enjoy it
