Forever and Always
As I sit here reading a book,
I hear the dogs go nuts.
All I can think of is you coming home,
But its Mom I already know.
This is because you are never coming back.
All I can do is hope, but my hope will eventually be lost.
When I think of you I wish I could say it brings tears to my eyes.
But I can't because that would be a lie.
I love you I truly do,
I just don't know i can not cry.
I still can't say aloud that you died.
For weeks on end I used to pretend,
I thought maybe, just maybe, you would come back
That you were just playing a joke on us.
We were all going to laugh in the end.
After that sad week,
I went on living life in a daze, this was a horrible daze without you.
In this daze I will forever and always remember you.
Forever and always, Dad.
