Sad Songs
The mood escapes me,
lingering with the light impression that
drifts away like a faint memory.
Quietly triggering thoughts and feelings,
sad songs that brought me through,
brought me down,
brought me away
from the plagues that troubled and toiled
In a time that seemed so, so long ago.
Words and melodies that seemed so true
Ringing with clarity,
expressing into guitar strums emanating from speakers,
are now so
Tragically Beautiful.
So like soft whispers reminding me of how far I’ve come,
They do not fail to portray,
you,
wrapping their tendril tunes carefully.
I’m not sure of how this will go.
Whatever discord and strife and minor chords will be struck.
Just know,
you know,
I don’t want hear the tragically beautiful songs again
And not find them of a sadder time.
I want you to hear my trembling voice.
