The fragments of rock obscured within the rough asphalt beneath us shimmered
As the final hour swiftly passed and your leave steadily approached
The reminiscence now of a smile given beneath the light of a pale moon
Is one I cherish almost as much as the few other more faded memories
And I wonder lightly if you can recall the emotions conveyed
In the slight stroke of a hand, a whisper, and opening your eyes to the true sight
Of our daybreak.
