Piercing Silence

Alone in the quiet stillness
Waiting for the smallest sound
Singing to fill the ringing
Of the silence that presses in on me from every direction
Threatening to suffocate
No one to witness
But the face in the mirror
Eyes closed, I become the quiet
One with the shadows in the hall
That leap and quiver in my moments of restlessness
I am nothing
But the silence piercing the empty night
Close your eyes and listen

And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes."

MY favorite part is the part about leaping and quivering, very nice
