Summer Breeze

There’s something the summer breeze brings
That makes our lives complete,
It’s the light of the fireflies that guide us
As we scavenger through the heat

As we spit out water melon seeds
Once our stomachs cant take anymore.
Sitting by the sea shore listening…
To the crashing of the waves and the cry of the gull.

I’m sure it’s that hard earned quarter
Dad gives us as he buys the first glass of our bitterly sour lemonade
As we hear the pitter patter of the rain on that cool July Day.
It has to be that sunburn of yours that itches while everyone else got a tan
You examine it on the ride home in that cramped up minivan.

There’s a feeling the summer breeze never fails to bring.
A memory we don’t forget as we get older
But a feeling that fades as the seasons get colder
It’s like the beat of the radio that beats in our hearts
It fades in the winter
But gets louder and louder as summertime starts
