and love tainted her tongue, smudging her lipstick

and the sick smell of wanting stuck to her person

and her stagger gave away

her inebriated heart

and his smile hung loosely over her shoulders

and his keys left a hole in her chest

and his arms wrapped around

her soul

and words dribbled down her chin

and explosions dotted her skin

and the confessions were smudged

on her fingertips

and she,

and her,

and if,

.

The author's comments:

I consider myself a beginner writer and quite frankly speaking, don’t have much appreciation for my own writing. That may be because of the truly poor state of my written work or the inherent insecurity that comes with being an artist. Either way, I am grateful for this opportunity and have great respect for the arts, especially literature. This piece was simply something that sprung up in my mind and I think it is one of my better ones.

I think this is awesome!! I love how the poem begins with "and" and that it's lowercase, it kind of makes everything more connected in my opinion by not differentiating/separating the "beginning" from the "end" and making it seem like a loop. The ideas and writing all tie together nicely and overall your piece sounds great !! 😸
