Nothing But Flies
Tuning out, watching the wind rustle the leaves, the sun
heating the pavement, a fly comes in to greet me.
With him, he brings the eyes of the whole class,
watching as he circles my head in curiosity.
Then he nosedives at people and sniffs the lights,
and eventually, leaves.
If the classrooms Earth, aren't we all flies?
We simply come, bother or distract, and
go.
