I’m Hungry
I’m hungry. And only you can satisfy my hunger. Only the taste of your lips against mine with soothe the ache that has seeped past my flesh and has settled into my bones. No matter how far I search into myself to remove it, it crawls deeper and deeper into my body—nearing so close to my soul. But when the flavor of your skin reaches my tongue is when the ache is sated—only temporarily. Because unless my desire to consume you whole is fulfilled, the ache will always linger.

The poem has nothing to do with how I’m personally feeling, but I’ve been really obsessed with poems that use cannibalism as a metaphor for immense yearning and love so I thought I’d try my hand at it. Hope you enjoy it!
