Free Verse Poem: {Erased}
My heart is torn into a million pieces
every time she makes you smile,
every time your laughter echoes
but you're not looking in my eyes
And anytime she'd get closer,
I'd always turn the other way
Because I know she's always welcome
she's always safe in your embrace
And I'd rather not know
I'd rather cling to the past:
to your feathery touch
and to your every smile and lie,
to how your skin felt
on mine
because I know
her touch lingers longer than mine,
because I know
she'll leave no trace of me behind
