What is Life?
As I was staring into the mist,
I realized that a tear fell down my cheek.
I quickly wiped it off with my wrist,
And wondered about the questions unique.
I thought about what really is life.
The existence of an individual being?
What does it mean to be alive?
I tried but couldn’t stop these feelings.
In reality, we live on a floating rock in the middle of nothing.
And this floating rock is what we call Earth.
Soon what is left will just be a black string.
I wondered if all this was fake.
What if this is all a dream?
I pinched myself, only to realize I was awake.
Then, suddenly flashed a light beam.
As I looked up, a car approached me.
And the next second I was in a puddle of blood,
Next to a big, luscious tree.
As I counted my last few breaths,
I realized that this so-called life is over.
Now that I approach death,
I wouldn’t have these thoughts take over.
As I no longer will be alive,
I wouldn’t need to think about the question,
What is life?
As there is no life, at least for me.
