Peering Into Winter
Frigid ice cools my bones
My voice becomes raspy in the air
The ground view so low, lacking in tones
I don’t dawdle out there, I wouldn’t dare
Days pass by, all a blur
Productivity wanes and dies
It’ll all come back I’m sure
But with the cold, I cut all ties
Tree branches shooting out
Against the skyline, so bright
To see this vision, I change my route
To explore the winter, to see this sight
Snow so cold it burns
More than any fire could
I slip around the turns
We need more firewood
All is well and dandy
Only on the inside
As I eat my cane of candy
I can’t say I tried
As I happily experience winter from inside.

Staying inside for winter, looking out the window, eating candy canes. Sounds good for me!!!
