Twenty-six letters,
scattered through the pages.
Time flies by in light years.
The clock ticks, while I eclipse.
The blast of reality eases,
 at last.

The author's comments:

This poem illustrates how fast time flies while reading. However, this poem is described in terms of space. There are a total of twenty-six letters in the alphabet. Those letters then become words when scattered together. Light years go by very fast, thus explaining that time goes by very fast while reading. As time passed while reading, one may find themselves blocking out the reality of their daily lives – like an eclipse. Finally, the harsh reality has been relieved through escapism.
