Favorite Quote:
" to me Fearless is living in spite of those things that scare you to death"

-Taylor Swift

Something changed, maybe it's the way you look at me now

A sore inside your throat with words you can't shout

The realization of change in your eyes

The hurt that speaks from your mouth

Words you can't say

Things you don't mean

Fear that cripples

Eyes that hauntingly stare

You say to me with despair

A new heart made out of gold, a new word that cuts you the most

A table turned

Things you thought you had moved on from

A person that still lurks in the back of your head

You thought you had forgotten

But you didn't

you can't even admit it

You still get flashbacks from things you don't want to remember

You try to forgive and forget

But the only thing forgotten was

what changed

The author's comments:

What inspired me to write "Change," was the fact that I wanted to reflect and explore  how I view transformation and change in my life. The poem commences with my observation of change in the way someone else looks at me, leading to an increased awareness of the impact of change in my life.I face difficulty in expressing the emotions associated with change and I wanted to know why,  this poem was the product of my thoughts turned into words.
