Heavy
A brass pendulum,
it’s so heavy that it can’t swing.
An afterthought in a world that is
constantly turning,
it’s attached to my head.
I bow, swing my neck up
ball goes flying, my spine snaps
tugged in a current
undertow in the air,
somersaulting through the ceiling
as I’m split in half.
Severed feelings
and nerves. My body’s numb.
I’m broken. Gravity, bring me back.
