Just a shadow
“Can I get a new backpack?” I ask
My pens spilling out of the hole on the side
“No you can deal with it”
“Can I get a new phone?” my brother asks
The watermarks forming because he dropped it in the lake
“Yes you definitely need better a phone”
“Can I get a new pair of leggings?” I ask
The holes in the ripping even bigger
“No you can sew them”
“Can I get a new car? I want a truck” my brother asks
His perfectly fine new car sits in the driveway
“Yes it will be much easier for baseball”
“Can I get treated fairly?”
I ask, nervously fidgeting my fingers
“Hold that thought, your brother is calling”
