Underneath
There is a difference between being perceived and being understood.
No matter the person you are, the place you live, the education you have
We all judge and perceive others differently
So why do we count on our judgment as correct?
People see me as sociable
People see me as confident
People see me as weird
People see me as busy
People see me as a procrastinator
People see me as lazy
But, I am an introvert
I am one of the most insecure people you will meet
I am scared to let my true, weird self shine
I am keeping myself distracted from the truth of it all
I am waiting for the right opportunities
I am trying my best
Not all people will understand you, and you won't be able to understand everyone else.
We can continue to perceive people the way it satisfies us
We can continue to use our judgemental senses on others
But that will never compare to the real, deep feeling of being appreciated
Because there is a difference between being perceived and being understood.
