Among the aroma of May lilies
Sitting on a bed of freshly cut grass
Cross-legged with a soft, feather-gray
wildcat in your lap
Listening to the wind tickle the leaves
Thinking of the perils of a seventh grade girl:
Boys who call her names
Boy she thinks is meant to be
Boy who doesn't even see
her
While not a cloud drifts out of the sky
Not a car dare passes by
And the dandelion seeds drift past
your face?
