A Different First Day
The first day of school is typically dreadful; syllabi, waking up early, and having responsibilities
Sad that summer is over and having to spend time crunched in a classroom
Instead of being outside with your friends
However this year wasn’t the same
The last first day of school where I might not see most of these people again
I not only feel excited to finish high school
But also sad as the four years have flown by
The things and people that I will miss dearly
Anticipation builds up for the next chapter of my life
As graduation moves nearer and nearer
Starting college applications and thinking of independence
Living away from my family for the first time in my life
It all sounds scary however,
I know I will have fun and it is crucial for my growth as a person and for my career
Eager to move on and try new things
I am excited
