How You Make Me Feel
You leave the most b i t t e r taste in my mouth.
You make me see the most a g g r e s s i v e of colors.
The lions and bears can smell the utter h o r r o r surrounding me on all sides.
That’s How You Make Me Feel.
When you’re around, I smell the pungent aroma of bile.
And when I see you, I taste the sharp metallic tang of blood.
When I hear your name, I almost faint.
When your voice comes echoing down the hall, I feel my body turn an icy blue.
And I want to run.
As fast as I can.
I want to run until I can feel things that are not you.
Until the tiny legs of the ghostly centipedes crawling all over my skin,
have stopped their taunting dance.
And those harsh colors I see are
turned paler, softer.
Until I see the dark, dark purple blinding my sight
is clear as water.
Until my quivering insides
are enveloped by a soft blanket.
But that won’t happen. It can’t.
Not until you’re gone.

I wrote this piece about the way someone who used to be in my life makes me feel, and how they made me feel when I was friends with them. This person had completely violated me, making me feel some of the most powerful emotions I have felt in my life.
