Winters Passing

The frost of the cold kept the town silent

Fighting the frost of winter’s ominous storms

Awaiting the day the snow melts,

glass is less foggy,

and windows to be propped open by the sun once more

Years have passed and the village still kept waiting for a sight of morn

Days in the dark, sun covered by clouds of anger

The roaring of thunder shakes the ground

Like quakes of unpleasant earth crying for warmth

Until the clouds move along and glimmers reveal life once more

Snow becomes puddles, and puddles become dirt

Trees are painted with color

And fields are again grass

Doors are opened and smiles are met

Flowers begin to bloom, and children are at play

Worry is at rest, and hope lives on

The storm in the past, and light is reimagined
