Short round Falls
Short Round wasn’t his name, no,
Although he was nothing short of potential,
Perceived as nothin’ but a brighter future awaitin’,
He did lack in signs of complete comprehension,
Apprehensive, the guardians of Gavin Reeve strived,
Striving to provide support and nothin’ short of it!
Few years go ’round, little Gavin eagerly awaited that morning
Damp and unbothered, Gavin gathered himself
“Gavin!” Called Mrs. Reeve as she found her son
Left outside for “a few seconds,” and way more,
Gavin saw the banana yellow vehicle, and it had wheels?
“Look, Momma, the bus, the bus, the bus!”
“Yes, Gavin, the bus!”
Excited with an open-minded heart,
Gavin Reeve exited his mother’s grasp.
Joining his new friends on the machine named the school bus,
Gavin walked up the steps, but not before a cold chill followed
Briefly kissing his open skin,
Goosebumps prickled up and down his arms
Looking on, Gavin saw his future friend
Her name was Clarie Wilding
“Hi, I’m Gavin,” he said without thinking
Knowledgeable of the future,
Gavin knew their friendship was written by fate.
