My Expectations

It’s been their expectation
Always theirs and not mine
Something out of my reach
I’m running down a road that doesn’t have an outlet
I’m dying and you can’t see
My ears are ringing and it blocks out the noise
The noise white
It’s unsettling
It blinds me and I like it
I crave it, exciting
My heart thumps
I don’t give in to their expectation
More, more, more
It’s never a give and takes
Push or pull
I’m not giving any tension
The string pulls me
I’m led by it
Being Strong is not my responsibility
But it is what they expect
This is what is expected
