I feel it creeping up on me,

Jealousy, 

Rake me raw and burn my clothes. 

Drag me down till I can't speak, 

Remind me 

What I will never know. 

Weigh me down with a ball and chain 

Trap me

Searching for what I cannot find

Parade the blessed in front of me,

Cruelly,

Lonely prisoner of my mind.  

Suddenly my lungs are closing up,

Let loose a

Scream and feel them wither.

Carrying this curse for years,

Medusa,

Envy's snakes so blithely slither

Take a tour of the talented souls,

Ignore me,

Hate myself and feed the scorn.

Rushing towards an old conclusion, 

Eternally,

I'll stab myself with my own thorn. 

I'm haunted by the Green Eyed Monster 

Toy with me,

Smell my fears and feed off my hurt.  

Lurking just around the corner, 

Insecurity,

The stalker I cannot desert.
