Goodnight to Goodbye
I cried last night.
My tears fell like moondrops
Sorrow engulfed my heart
The nerve, to touch my light.
News travels fast when you are the first to hear
Illness, disease, plague… I do not care don’t leave me.
My depression mixes with anxiety, shatter my perception of the future
I planned our future, one with wedding bells and silver bands, crystal clear?
I cannot breathe.
Not when I first heard your voice utter those words, that name
Cancer: a disease caused by an uncontrolled division of abnormal cells in a part of the body.
Save your hallowed flesh, you are holy to me,
If you must leave, leave your glasses for me so I might see through your eyes.
If you refuse to stay, leave your clothes so I can hold you in the coming days
If I cannot have you any longer, give me your watch to measure the moments you will miss
If… if… If you die first, I will visit your grave and I will leave my soul in the form of roses
– So that I might still be with you.
You said goodnight, but how many more do I have? Time unfortunately flies.
